Summary - This article describes the methodology adopted by the AICA Consortium (a group of Indo-Italian- Spanish companies entrusted by the Governmental Author- ities of the Republic of India and the Indian State of Maha- rashtra to supervise the construction of lines 7 and 2B of the Mumbai Subway) for the quality assurance and quality control activities of the contractors responsible for the con- struction of the 2 lines.
The Quality Management System implementation by Italferr, a company of the Italian Railways Group, is de- scribed with descriptions and examples.
The effectiveness of the controls and processes currently implemented by the Consortium (the two lines are still in the process of being built) is the result of the particular commitment of its management in the actual application of the contractual requirements, requested by the Indian Client "Mumbai Metro Region Development Authority" (MMRDA).
