Summary - URV (Unmanned Railway Vehicle) is the first prototype of unmanned railway vehicle equipped to travel on High Speed (HS) lines and created to carry out inspection activities in a safety context that will allow checking the condition of the lines in advance of the transit of the first train of the day. Designed from the need to improve the inspection and safety of railway infrastructures, the URV combines advanced automation technologies, artificial vision and a hybrid traction system with an autonomy of 400 km and a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Thanks to dedicated operator interfaces, the URV offers two innovative driving modes: one remote and one self-driving, all supervised by an ERTMS/ETCS system that ensures maximum safety, managing speed reductions and emergency braking.
