Prediction analysis of dynamic behaviour
of the railway vehicle is achieved using the “multibody”
modelling technique, implemented in several codes available
on the market. Within the railway field, multibody
codes used by major constructors are Adams/VI-Rail
(hereinafter shorten to VI-Rail) and Simpack.
In this work two running dynamic analysis from two
identical calculation models were carried out in parallel,
each implemented using one of the above mentioned
codes. The results thus obtained have been compared between
each other, trying to give to the reader a picture of
the simulations normally performed during the design
phase. In order to better understand and interpret the results
obtained, great room has been dedicated to the implementation
features of both models, to the verification
of their plausibility and to the description of the respective
wheel-rail contact models.
