The method of “filling curves” allows the
design or verification of the stop capacity of railway stations,
associated with a fixed service quality level, with a
synthetic approach, i.e. not related to the topology of the
station but to some “global” parameters such as the number
of tracks.
The purpose of the brief is to describe some methods for
constructing filling curves of railway stations as functions
of both the expected quality level and the traffic volume and
the arrival distribution law.
